The arterial supply to the thyroid gland is illustrated, showing the percent distribution to various parts of the organ and the overlap between the primary sources. The author also discussed another source, the thyroid ima artery, which they encountered in four cases. The thyroid ima supplied the isthmus of the thyroid gland, which, in those four cases, was limited to an area left of the midline of the isthmus.
