This study was based on 730 laboratory specimens.

A: From apex of arch of inferior thyroid artery; 528 of 730 sides. 72.33%; 266 right, 262 left.

B. As a direct branch of the thyrocervical trunk; 78 of 730 sides 10.68%; 37 right, 41 left.

C: Branch of the suprascapular artery; 60 of 730 extremities, 8.22%; 29 right, 31 left.

D: Branch of the transverse cervical artery; 55 of 730 extremities, 7.53%; 32 right, 23 left.

E: Dual ascending cervical arteries; 52 of 730 sides, 7.12%; 29 right, 23 left. (in 16 instances, both vessels arose from the inferior thyroid artery; in 28 cases, 1 arose from the inferior thyroid, 1 from the thyrocervical trunk or one of its branches. In 8 instances, both vessels arose from the thyrocervical trunk, or one of its branches other than the inferior thyroid artery.)

F: Branch of the superficial cervical artery; 52 of 730 sides, 7.12%; 27 right, 25 left.

G, H: Direct branch of subclavian artery; 14 of 730 extremities,

1.91%; 11 right, 3 left. From the first portion of subclavian, 9 sides, 1.23%; from the second portion of the subclavian, 5 sides, 0.68%.

I: As a branch of the internal thoracic artery; 1 of 730 sides. 0.13%; 1 left side.
