Left side: 54% of Caucasians and 69% of Blacks;

Right side: 46% of Caucasians and 31 % of Blacks.

There are no physiological consequences of this variation. The two relations of the maxillary artery to the lateral pterygoid muscle. Percentages according to Lasker, Opdyke, and Miller.
