Right side (at left side of the illustration): - Single trunk, division into ascending cervical and inferior thyroid and transverse cervical arteries. (arrow)

Left side (at right side of the illustration): - Two branches from the subclavian. Distal branch is the ascending cervical from which a branch arises that divides into the suprascapular and transverse cervical arteries. The medial branch is the inferior thyroid artery. (arrow)
