An intramuscular neural anastomosis within the flexor
digitorum profundis (F.D.P.) between the anterior interosseous branch
of the median nerve and the motor branch of the ulnar nerve to this
muscle is depicted.
It is through this connection that variations in supply to the flexor digitorum profundus between the ulnar and median nerves occur. The Martin-Gruber anastomosis and the ulnar nerve to median nerve anastomosis are also represented.
